How many guests can a wedding yacht in Abu Dhabi take?

Accepted Answer

Our fleet is 13 boats — yachts and house boats — and together they cover weddings of 15 to 40 guests. The smaller yachts suit an intimate ceremony with close family; the house boats have wide, flat decks for a seated dinner with the full guest list. Send us your headcount on WhatsApp and we will name the two or three boats that seat it comfortably, with the ceremony space and the dining area kept separate.

Can we hold the ceremony on deck?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The floral arch is built on the open deck, usually at the stern or the bow so the water and the Abu Dhabi skyline are behind you, and the aisle and guest seating are set in front of it. Most couples exchange vows while the boat is still alongside at the marina or at anchor in calm water off the Corniche, then the cruise, the cake and dinner follow. If you are bringing an officiant or a Sheikh for the katb al-kitab, tell us and we will plan the timing around him.

Is the decoration and the wedding cake included?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both are part of the wedding package on every boat. The decoration covers the floral arch, the aisle runner and seating, drapery, table styling, the couple's seating and the evening lighting, all installed at the marina before you board. The cake is chosen from our wedding cake collection and is brought on board chilled and cut on deck. Send us your colours and theme at least 48 hours before you sail.

What happens if it is windy on the wedding day?

Accepted Answer

The captain checks the forecast the day before and again on the morning. Light wind is normal on the Gulf and the decoration is weighted and tied down for it; the route can also stay in the sheltered water around Al Bateen, Lulu Island and the mangroves. If conditions are genuinely unsafe, the captain will not sail and we move the wedding to another date with the same boat, decoration and cake, at no extra charge.

How long should we book the yacht for a wedding?

Accepted Answer

The minimum charter is two hours, which is enough for the vows, photos and the cake. Most weddings book three to four hours so there is time for a ceremony, a seated dinner and a sunset stretch past Emirates Palace and the Corniche. For a full reception with dancing, the house boats are the usual choice and can be booked for the whole evening.

Can children and elderly guests come on board?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Boarding is a short step from the pontoon, and the house boats in particular have flat decks, shaded seating and easy access to the washrooms. Life jackets in children's sizes are on board and the crew will point out the safe areas. Tell us if any guest uses a wheelchair or needs a hand boarding, so we recommend a boat with a level entry.

Which marina do we board from?

Accepted Answer

Our boats sail from Yas Marina and Al Bateen Marina; the departure point depends on the boat you choose and is confirmed in your WhatsApp booking message. Both marinas have parking, and we ask the wedding party to arrive about 20 minutes before departure so everyone boards together once the decoration is finished.

Question 8

Can we add a photographer, a DJ or live music?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own photographer, videographer or DJ, or we can arrange them for you. Every boat has a sound system with Bluetooth for your own playlist; a DJ setup or a live oud player needs a little deck space and a power point, so tell us in advance and we will plan where they stand. Drone filming is possible on some routes, subject to the local permit.

How far ahead should we book a wedding yacht?

Weekend evenings from October to April are the most requested, so two to four weeks ahead is a safe window for your first choice of boat. A weekday or a daytime cruise can usually be arranged with a few days' notice. Whatever the date, the decoration and the cake need at least 48 hours.

Question 10

What does the captain decide, and what do we decide?

Accepted Answer

The captain is responsible for the route, the speed, where the boat anchors, when to sail and when not to, and the maximum number of people on board. Everything else is yours: the timing of the ceremony, the music, the menu, the decoration colours and where the photos are taken. The crew handles the boat, the serving and the cake cutting, so nobody in your family has to work on the day.

How do we confirm the booking?

Message us on WhatsApp at +971 50 503 7702 with your preferred date, the number of guests and the hours you want. We reply with the boats that fit, their availability and the package details for each. A deposit holds the date and the boat; the balance is settled before sailing, and you receive a written confirmation with the marina, the boarding time and the crew's contact number.

Where does the yacht sail during the wedding?

Accepted Answer

From Yas Marina the route runs along Yas Island and out towards Saadiyat; from Al Bateen it follows the Corniche past Emirates Palace, Etihad Towers and Lulu Island, with the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque visible from the water on the way back. Sunset is the most popular slot, so the ceremony is held in daylight and dinner is served as the city lights come on.
